Unique contest for writers

Remember me saying I wasn’t going to enter any contests for a good long while? Well, guess what?

Friend and cp Karin Tabke is running a great contest on her website blog and I jumped in with both feet. I made the first cut and posted my second line, so hop over and take a look.

The Sea King by Jolie Mathis

I love Viking and conquest stories, but this one predates that era and just may send my TBR pile toppling. Jolie is getting rave reviews, so check out her links and blog.

Sea King

Kol Thorleksson, the powerful Viking warrior known as the Sea King, owes his life to the young Saxon woman who risked everything to free him from bondage. Two years later, he has returned to Norsex, this time to wreak vengeance on those who plotted to destroy him. He is shocked to discover that the lovely woman who helped him regain his freedom is the sister of the tyrant who sought to take it away.

Not a day has passed without Princess Isabel of Norsex thinking of the handsome Viking who crossed her path. But when her peaceful world is threatened by barbarians, the last thing she expects to find is Kol at their helm. Now, with danger lurking in every corner of her kingdom, Isabel finds herself torn between her sworn allegiance and her traitorous heart …

AND ABLE

They’re the good guys fighting the bad guys. They’ll get the job done—if the price is right and so is the cause. Meet three sexy men who individually are READY, WILLING, and ABLE to go the distance—and together, are unstoppable…

Claire Sharp trusts few people and relies on no one. But after her life is threatened, ex-mercenary Brett Adams blows into her self-contained world, full of southern charm, rugged good looks, and enough sexual experience to write a how-to manual…experience he makes it clear he’d like to use on Claire. She wants help fighting the bad guys, but she’s not about to fall into Brett’s bed. For one thing, the guy has a no-commitment clause better than most big shot attorneys and for another, despite her response to his too sensual kisses, in her experience sex isn’t exactly fireworks and brass bands. Definitely not worth getting all excited over…

Brett plans to prove her wrong. He’s never felt such a powerful combination of lust and friendship with a woman. He’ll give her a white-hot pleasure like nothing she’s ever known and she’ll realize that some things in life are worth taking the risk for. When the threat to Claire grows dangerously close, pitting them against deadly odds, Brett will do whatever it takes to save her. Because Claire Sharp has just found herself a man who’s ready to bring it on, willing to do what it takes, and able to go the distance…

Wolf, Nitro, and Hotwire are hot and smart, and sure know what to do with the erotic passion Monroe gives them. – Michelle Buonfiglio, WNBC.com – Romance: B(u)y the Book

Monroe writes with a flourish the type of lovemaking and desire that women can truly appreciate. 4 Stars – Romantic Times

Ta-da!

I finished the first draft of My Sweet Thief and beat my goal by one day. Yeehaw!

I’ll take that small victory. I’ve never written a 400 page novel in two months before. Very slow by some authors’ standards, but it was a push for me working writing time in around family, illnesses, car troubles, work and that thing called a life.

Now the real fun starts with the revisions and rewrites–the part of writing I love, love, love. 🙂
